Art comes from ones depth maybe it is being alone, a song, something catching your eye, a dream, a memory. What ,otivates other artists here and their works?

All of these, as you said Michael, but sadness or anger, make me more inspired, most of the time.

Probably a combination of all the things you mentioned and/or other factors.
When I was in school someone said to me "you have an artist persona" I never understood what that meant, because it doesn't really make sense that someone is born with a personality to create art since art is just a means of expression in which an individual creates. One doesn't see music in the same context althought it is still art.
Everything that happens in one's life pushes him/her in a certain direction
along with one's capabilities of course. Inspiration is subjective
